Agricultural & Equine Fencing

There are many different types of agricultural fencing, depending on stock and livestock requirements that you have.

Field boundaries and paddocks must be secure for the protection of livestock and surrounding areas. As agricultural and equine fencing contractors, we cater for a full range fencing.

Agricultural Stock Fencing

Stock fencing or wire fencing can be installed using high tensile netted wire. The wire strains tighter than mild steel wire and requires no tightening regularly.

We support the wire with heavy duty 8ft strainers which are supported by stays or assembled as a box assembly if required. The intermediate posts are 3-4” spaced every 3 to 4m apart.

We drive posts into the ground 1200mm and 600mm deep, respectively. We use high spec Protech P230S with a 350kg weight also fitted with a rock spike, making it easier to drive the posts into the hardest of ground.

The stock netting is strained using boundary clamps and pullers. Ensuring that the stock fencing is tight, giving better security for any livestock and minimal maintenance. Stock fencing can have either barbed wire or high tensile wire above it providing extra protection for livestock.

Equine Netting for Horses

Specially designed for horses, equine netting is very similar to stock fencing. However, the spaces in the wire are small enough to ensure that horses do not get their hoofs trapped in the fence. The wire has no sharp edges to hurt any horse or pony. Equine netting made from high tensile steel will provide a long period of durability and very little maintenance.

Installing equine netting for horses is done in the same way as stock fencing with strainers & intermediate posts three to four meters apart. A single rail above the wire netting can installed for extra safety if required or a single strand of electric across the top.

Post and Rail Fencing

Post and rail fencing is very popular and used in many situations as it is both aesthetically pleasing and extremely secure. We recommend at least three rails but can fit as few as two, or up to five.

Posts are typically spaced at 1.8m apart and are 1.8m long. They are driven 600mm into the ground using a post knocker. We do not use concrete as this affects the life of the fence post.

As agricultural fencing Contractors, we can install post and rail fencing on long or short runs at competitive prices.

Gate Installations

We can supply and install wooden or galvanised metal gates for arable fields, paddocks and equestrian areas. Kissing gates can be supplied and installed for public footpaths.

Gates can be installed on galvanised gate posts concreted into the ground or we can install 8ft long timber posts both 4 way square or round posts to ensure the installation matches and fits in with the rest of the fencing and the environment.
